2017, what a year you were!
I know it is already (nearly) halfway though February and this post is a little overdo, but I want to keep up with tradition and take a moment to look back at 2017 and share with you my favourite moments. I haven’t had a chance to put this post together as this year has already started off on a busy note. The first half of January I was in Plettenberg Bay and the second half in Cape Town celebrating my 30th birthday. If this is how 2018 is so far, I am so excited for what’s to come!
So without any more babbling, here are a few of my favourite moments from 2017 …
My boyfriend surprised me on my 29th birthday with a visit to the Elephant Sanctuary Hartbeespoortdam. I am all about making memories and sharing special moments and this was definitely just that and a memory I will treasure forever.

I visited yet another game reserve in March and this was one that has been on my bucket list for the longest time. Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape was everything I thought it would be and more. I simply fell in love and nearly a year later I am itching to go back!

exploring the midlands from one end to the other
My absolute favourite weekend getaway in 2017 would have to be the weekend we explored the Midlands in May. We stopped at every shop, coffee shop, restaurant and even farm – it was fantastic! I cannot wait to return this year and do the exact same.

kruger national park
Our annual family trip to the Kruger National Park was definitely one for the books this year. We saw some amazing sightings and we just had the absolute best time, like always.
and, going on another safari
2017 was really an amazing year when it came to exploring game reserves. In July we visited the Kruger National Park for a second time (in two months!) when we stayed over at Jock Safari Lodge. What an absolutely magical place!

Knysna and the Garden Route
One of my favourite moments in September was cycling around Thesen Islands in Knysna. The Garden Route has a special place in my heart and I grab every opportunity I can to visit this special place.

eating and discovering Israel
In October we travelled to Israel and explored the very best this beautiful country has to offer. We did a lot of exploring, we ate a lot of delicious things and we even swam in the Dead Sea which was absolutely amazing!
The one thing I love about having a blog and an Instagram account is being able to scroll back and relive all the amazing memories! I also want to say a huge thank you to each and everyone of you who read my blog, liked my Instagram pics and took the time to make my 2017 as amazing as it was!
Here is to an even better 2018!
