MAC Snob: Snob is from the MAC’s Satin range of lipsticks and is described as a ladylike mauve – simply put, it’s a pretty shade of baby pink.
Satin Range: Lipsticks from the Satin range have matte finishes to them, but also have an added sheen which make them a little less drying on the lips. They wear for a good couple of hours, approximately five hours, and give you opaque coverage.
My Review: At first I thought “woah! this is a very pink, pink” but it is actually not – it is more of a cool-toned pink with a slight purple tone to it. To describe the shade of this lipstick in laymans terms, it is a perfect pink fit for a Barbie Doll. Because of the Satin finish, it has a smooth and creamy application, but leaves your lips completely matte with no gloss/shine to it. What I like about this shade is that it is completely buildable – you can choose to wear it as a subtle colour with just one application, or you can build it up to be brighter and bolder.
My Thoughts: I love Snob! Period. It is perfectly pigmented, provides long lasting colour, does not leave your lips feeling dry, and lastly, I love how matte it is! I also found that Snob is a lot more flattering on fair skinned girls, like myself, as it did not leave my lips looking artificial/fake looking.
Tip: I suggest that because this lipstick has a matte finish that can leave your lips looking dry, you need to ensure you exfoliate them before applying it. There are several ways you can do this; either by using your toothbrush and gently brushing over your lips, or making a little mixture of sugar granules and olive oil and scrubbing this over your lips, or heading over to your nearest LUSH and investing in a yummy Bubblegum Lip Scrub.
If you’re looking for a shade more suitable for winter, then I suggest MAC’s Rebel – I did a review on this shade and you can read up on it by clicking HERE. It is a gorgeous plum shade that everyone loves, especially me! 🙂
