The Body Shop is and always has been my favourite go-to shop when I need a little beauty pick me up … Which happens to be quite often. A few weeks back I visited my nearest TBS in search of some new goodies and after reading Charlene’s (from the beautiful Gee Whiskers! blog) great review on TBS’s new Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet, I definitely knew I had to put one in my basket! If there’s anyone who knows their beauty stuff, its definitely Charlene 🙂 So I bought this facial cream a good two months ago and have really put this cream to the test as I have used it religiously every night since then.
I tend to suffer from very dry skin. After having washed and toned my face, if I don’t put on my serum or face cream straight after, and I happen to either laugh or smile, my face will crack (and I’m not even joking!)- thats how dry my skin gets., especially in the winter months. So I am always on the lookout for products that will give my skin that extra bit of moisturising oomph!
Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet claims to provide your skin with a 24 hour moisture quench together with an aqua-light texture. This means that the cream is water based and has a gel-like texture. The cream is also a beautiful baby pink colour and has a moringa flower scent (which I love so much that I’ve even bought a bottle of the moringa body spray!) I personally think the cream has a slight resemblance to strawberry sorbet ice cream, but thats just my opinion 🙂
My thoughts: I have used this moisturiser on my face religiously for the past two months and I simply cannot get enough of it. I use it in the morning and at night, and when my face feels a little bit dry during the day too. The reason why you can apply this moisturiser a million and one times a day is because it is water based, so it is very light and won’t leave your face feeling oily and dirty. When you apply the moisturiser, it gives you a cooling sensation (thanks to the water base) which in turn leaves your face feeling refreshed and hydrated, which is great pick-me-up for that mid-afternoon. Another thing I love about this moisturiser is that it has a mattyfying effect, which means it soaks up any oil residue on your face and you’re left with a shine-free look. The moisturiser leaves my face feeling super soft, nourished, moisturised and feeling fresh – which is all the things you need from a moisturiser, in my opinion.
This is THE perfect cream for summer. It is so light, so nourishing and with a cooling effect that you can apply it 24/7 during summer without having to worry about your skin feeling oily and sweaty. Having said that, I recommend placing your jar in the fridge so after a full day in the sun you can apply this miracle to your face to put back what the sun took out, and for that extra cooling and refreshing sensation.
Would I buy this again? Oh yes! And I already have stocked up on three more jars thanks to the great special The Body Shop is currently running – you can buy three products for the price of two with the lowest priced product being free. The special is on until the 31st of August so RUUUN! The price is R135 and at such a great deal for such a wonderful product you would be stupid not to stockpile this moisturiser like me 😉
