Minkys guide to a perfect Valentine’s Day

Food

Couples, singles AND friends can all celebrate Valentine’s Day. This day offers an exciting opportunity to put together adorable gifts, eat delicious food and spend time with the people you love. It is a perfect reason to #ShareYourHeart with those that are important to you. And this year there is definitely something for everyone!

I asked on Instastories for some ideas on how to celebrate a perfect Valentine’s Day. And here are some of your answers together with my ideas …

Some ideas for a couples perfect date…

Chocolate fondue: Whether you want to dress up and splurge or take the cozy, homemade route, put together a chocolate fondue with some of your favourite treats and snuggle up at home.

Take a road trip: For the more adventurous couple, hop in the car and drive out somewhere exciting. A day of exploring out of the city will definitely make a memorable day. And don’t forget to pack a picnic hamper with a whole lot of treats!

Be the chef: If you’re looking to celebrate without spending a ton of money, cook a meal with your better half. Pull out your recipe books and throw together a dinner for two. This is definitely an easy and fun way to stir up some fun.

Some fun for the singles…

Buy yourself a present: Instead of feeling down about not having someone to share gifts with, buy a gift for yourself! There is no shame in treating yourself to your favourite chocolate, a new book or even a bunch of roses.

Do something you enjoy: Whether it’s going to a yoga class, baking or taking a bubble bath, it is important to find time for yourself. Valentine’s Day couldn’t be a better day to do so.

Movie marathon and chocolate binge: There are definitely enough chick flicks on Netflix to cover us all this Valentine’s Day. But what’s a movie marathon without too much chocolate? Stock up on all your favorites, and revel in the sappiness of “The Notebook” and “Crazy, Stupid, Love.”

For a night with friends…

Host a “Secret Cupid” gift exchange: Gift exchanges are especially popular during the holiday season. Put your own spin on the ever-so-classic “Secret Santa” and organize a Valentine’s Day gift exchange with friends.

Go out for dessert: Who needs dates when you have cake? Head out for ice cream and make it a date to remember!

Get crafty: While there is an endless supply of adorable ideas on Pinterest, finding time to actually recreate them is rare. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to sit back, relax and get crafty with your friends.

Whatever you do decide to do on Valentine’s Day, just remember to #ShareYourHeart with the new limited-edition Cadbury Dairy Milk Pop Out Heart Slabs, available in Original and Dream. A chocolate heart pops out of the slab which you can give to a special someone or a loved one. You see, it’s all about kindness and generosity!
