What we ate at Fireroom Monte Casino


When you think of FireRoom, you think of sushi on fire, don’t you? Well that is what I think of thanks to all the snippets I see on social media. We were recently invited to wine and dine at FireRoom, and after one very delicious lunch here, I can report back that their food is totally lit.

The Fireroom at Montecasino offers a sushi and grill experience that will literally blow your mind with it’s fusion of flavours. The whole experience is like no other and is definitely very exciting! If you have never been before you are probably thinking what is this foodie going on about! Well, let me tell you more …

Sushi on fire ….

FireRoom serves up sushi like you have never experienced sushi before – on fire! As we sat down and browsed the menu, we just couldn’t decide which sushi on fire to choose. So we asked our waiter which are the most popular dishes, and he said:

Fire Roll: crispy California roll, salmon, jalapeno, kewpie mayo, cream cheese, yakitori sauce.

Tuna Crunch: tempura tuna California roll, cream cheese, crispy rice, fantasy sauce.

Rock Shrimp Tempura: salmon California roll topped with tempura prawn, fantasy sauce and caviar.

If you love sushi but not one for fusion sushi, the menu offers a big selection of traditional sushi as well as poke bowls.

What else is on the menu at The FireRoom?

Besides for sushi on fire, you will find a variety of other delicious things on the menu. Oysters, salads, stir fry, dim sum, meat dishes as well as seafood. If you’re after the whole FireRoom experience, then you can order from a selection of meat dishes that will be flamed at your table.

What did we order?

It was hard to decide because the menu is so big, but this is what we settled on:

  • Starter: Halloumi cheese,
  • Starter: Rock Shrimp Tempura,
  • Main: Langoustines,
  • Main: Fillet on the bone flambéed at the table,
  • Dessert: Ice cream and bar one sauce

Each dish was delicious but the show stoppers were obviously the Rock Shrimp Tempura and the Fillet on the bone flambéed at the table. The table theatrics of these dishes adds to the whole FireRoom experience and makes the dining experience extremely exciting!

The FireRoom is a restaurant that offers all the good things in life – cognac, cigars, whiskies and of course, a dining experience like no other. If you haven’t been yet, I suggest you visit soon, especially now that it’s winter and there is no better place to be than around the fire Ha!
