Just Teddy in Hyde Park Corner

Three of my favourite things include tea time, freshly baked treats and exploring new places that offer a delicious high tea. There is a new boulangerie and patisserie that has just opened up it’s doors in Hyde Park Corner called Just Teddy. I got to explore everything this new spot has to offer on it’s first day of opening. And I am happy to report back that Just Teddy offers all three of my favourite things … and more!

JUST TEDDY

If, like me, you are familiar with the foodie scene of Johannesburg, you will definitely recognize the name Just Teddy. After Teddy Zaki’s huge success on The Great South African Bake Off, he opened up his very own French-style bakery called Just Teddy. The location of this bakery is at The Sheds at 1Fox in Johannesburg. It is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm as well as the last Friday of the month from 12pm to 10pm.

Fast forward a good few years and now Just Teddy has expanded to Hyde Park Corner with the coziest yet super glamorous and very French-style patisserie cafe.

I was invited by the Hello Joburg team to experience what this patisserie has to offer. After a whole morning of trying just about everything, I can definitely say that Just Teddy will become my new favourite hangout.

What can you get at Just Teddy?

At the new Just Teddy you will find treats inspired by those Teddy savoured on all his travels. You will enjoy freshly baked goods influences by traditional French treats, such as signature madeleines, almond friands, financiers, assorted French tarts, canelés and even a Lebanese sweet treat or two. You will also find croissants and assorted Danish pastries as well as artisanal breads including bagels, rye and ciabbata.

On top of all of this, you will be able to sit down and order food off a menu, indulge in a delicious ice cream or two or treat yourself to a decadent afternoon high tea.

This new spot is a very special place and you have to visit to see why.
