If this year has taught us anything, it is to explore even more of our beautiful country South Africa. This includes little hidden gems and unique places right on our doorstep. One of them being Rosemary Hill, which we recently just visited and am so excited to share more about.
Rosemary Hill is an organic farm situated on the eastern outskirts of Pretoria. Known for being one of the most beautiful wedding destinations in South Africa, Rosemary Hill has so much to offer. The estate boasts numerous unique event venues, a bustling coffee shop and restaurant, 33km trails, and various exciting and unique accommodation options.
Cabinville at Rosemary Hill
One of the very unique accommodation options includes Cabinville which is a collection of pods and a cabin. On our recent visit to Rosemary Hill, we were one of the very lucky few to stay in the newly launched cabin. So being one of the first to stay here, I am so excited to tell you about this one-of-a-kind experience.
The cabin is essentially a container with all the amenities and features to ensure a luxury stay over experience. The cabin is a double-storey unit with a queen sized bed, a bath, a shower, a kitchenette, a dining area and a sitting area. There is also an upstairs balcony turned hammock bed. And from here, you will enjoy the most beautiful views and sunset. No detail is left untouched in the cabin which adds to this unique magical experience.
Food and drink
The cabin has a fully equipped kitchenette including a gas stove and a microwave. But if like us, you forget your groceries, there are 2 restaurants on the estate. We enjoyed the most delicious pizza at the Greenhouse Cafe as well as breakfast at the Coffee Shop. For dinner we enjoyed a picnic basket full of treats on our hammock while watching the sun go down. It was heavenly!
Things to do
Trail run or hike one of the 30km’s tracks. You can choose from 5km, 10km or 33km trails to run, hike or ride.
Go horse riding through the beautiful farm or make use of the professional facilities such as arenas for multiple disciplines, canter track, outrides and cross-country trails.
Be extra adventurous and Acrobranch which is a unique treetop experience for kids and adults.
Book a high tea experience at Rosemary Hill. For R295.00 per person, you can feast on a meat or plant-based menu with sweet and savoury treats.
Collect your picnic box, grab a spot on the lawn or a table and tuck into an assortment of treats. You can choose from a family or romantic picnic package.
Rosemary Hill is a truly unique weekend getaway experience that I am so happy I got to experience. I’ve already made a note in my 2021 diary to visit Rosemary Hill and stay in the cabin during the winter next year. I cant even imagine how absolutely cozy and romantic this would be!
