Plettenberg Bay is my second home. I have spent nearly every summer holiday in Plett since I was in school. And now that I am no longer in school, I try get to Plett as often as I can throughout the year.
The beauty in Plett is so tranquil, so peaceful and just so beautiful. I don’t need to say more though, you can see for yourself from this post. It is the perfect destination to escape city life and absorb the raw, unspoilt beauty.
One of my favourite hotels is The Plettenberg. Since I can remember we always pay this hotel a visit, be it for breakfast or dinner, tea and scones, or a cocktail or two. Or we would just walk in, head straight to the pool area, admire the views and walk out.
But I am dedicating this post solely to the tea and scones at The Plettenberg.
Tea with a View
They are the best tea and scones in this world. And I kid you not.
They are perfectly crumbly, truly decadent and light and fluffy. With the right ratio of butter to cream to jam, they are melt in your mouth indulgent. Served with a cup of tea, I honestly think the Queen, herself, will give a two thumbs up.
Tea and scones at The Plettenberg is a little bit different to ordinary tea and scones anywhere else. It comes with a view. A view of the mountains in the distance, the ocean in front of you, and the Keurbooms Lagoon to the left.
I can assure you now, once you’ve experienced tea, scones and a view at The Plettenberg, nothing else and nowhere will compare.
