lets try be more like Beyonce
There are only so many hours in a day. Those hours seem to be getting shorter and our to-do lists seem to be getting longer. Finding simple ways to help boost productivity throughout the day will make you feel like you’re in control of your to-do list and not the other way round.
Here are My 5 Simple Ways To Be More Productive that help me get through the day:
1. PRIORITISE YOUR TO-DO LIST
We all know to-do lists are the best things ever since sliced bread. The best time to write your to-do list is the evening/afternoon before. When writing your to-do list, try and write the most important things at the top and work your way down to the least important. That means that when you sit at your desk the next day and start tackling your to-do list, you remember whats important, instead of having to waste time sifting through everything deciding what to do first.
I swear by my to-do list, or just list making in general. Our brains can only store so much and the little trivial things of “email so and so” will get shifted to the back of your brain and forgotten about. Thats why it is so important to write all these little things down.
2. KEEP YOUR DESK CLEAN
Try and make sure your desk/office space is totally clutter and mess free. Not only does a messy work space give off negative vibes, but you will have no inspiration to sit at your desk amongst the mess.
On my desk I like to keep my pen holder, laptop and mouse, my 2017 diary, a notepad/notebook for my to-do lists, my hand cream, lip balm and a glass of water. You won’t find anything more or anything less. Oh and a cup of coffee or tea. And maybe a snack or two.
3. TACKLE YOUR EMAILS IN ONE GO
Set an hour or two during the day to tackle all your emails. That means send out what needs to be sent out and reply in bulk to all the emails received. That means you’re not wasting precious time in your mail the whole day.
What I like to do is I make a huge mug of my favourite apple and pear flavoured green tea, I put the radio or some music on, but very soft so I don’t get distracted and end up dancing around the room. Then I do what I need to do for an hour or two or three.
4. HAVE A BREAK
Even if it is just a 5 minute break, a lunch break or a tea and biscuits break, you have to have a break. A 5 minute break to play Candy Crush, is also considered a break! If you sit for a few hours straight working, you’ll burn out quicker. With having a few breaks here and there, you’re refreshing your mind and brain and replenishing your energy levels.
Every so often I like to go outside, get some fresh air, maybe play a bit of Candy Crush or browse Instagram or even read for a bit. This just refreshes the mind and helps re-boost the energy levels.
5. TACKLE THE MOST IMPORTANT BEFORE LUNCH
I don’t know about you but I am at my freshest in the morning up until lunch time. My brain is still functioning, my energy levels are high and my concentration span is still going strong. This is the time when I like to do the most challenging stuff that needs to be done. After lunch, when that slight energy slump happens, is when I do the least mind boggling stuff. Like edit photos for example. While watching Gilmore Girls. Ha!
Bonus: Start your Morning With a Healthy Breakfast/Smoothie
There is something about having a wholesome healthy breakfast that sets the tone for the day. You feel inspired, motivated and encouraged … Well at least I know I do. There is also no better way to feed our mind and our bodies than with a healthy start to the day.

Great post Loren!
I need to work on point number 4, as taking breaks regularly boost productivity. There have been many days where I don’t take breaks and I need to break that habit.
