PRON – People’s Republic of Noodles (Linden)

• Type of food: noodle bowls, dumplings and small dishes.

• What I recommend: PRON’s sister restaurant is Red Chamber in Hyde Park which is my absolute favourite restaurant in JHB, so obviously PRON is my next absolute favourite restaurant in JHB. So, I highly recommend everything on the menu.

Glenda’s Restaurant (Hyde Park)

• Type of food: delicious wholesome food, like a Sunday roast chicken or babotjie pies, and freshly baked cakes, macaroons and treats.

• What I recommend: Everything because everything is delicious!

• Type of food: traditional and authentic Italian cuisine.

• What I recommend: The pasta dishes. You know how I love my pasta!

The Butcher Shop & Grill (Sandton)

• Type of food: meats, steaks, stews and burgers.

• What I recommend: Fillet steak, with pepper sauce and mashed potato. This is my go to! But also, the burgers are really good and so is the oxtail especially now for a wintery comfort meal.

• Type of food: Mediterranean cuisine from seafood, to pasta and even meat dishes.

• What I recommend: It’s very hard to narrow down an exceptional menu to a few favourites, so I would have to say I highly recommend everything! Don’t forget to leave space for a millefeuille for dessert!
